7 Months Old Tomorrow!

I can't believe Avery is almost 7 months old! She is still a tiny peanut, but thinks that she is Evan's age! She crawls everywhere and over everything. She is starting to climb up on things, including wall corners, which freaks me out. She is fast as can be and only wants to play with the toys that Evan has. She has sprouted her first little tooth, which I have yet to be able to capture on film. She is now saying "da da da da" and "ma ma ma ma". I love it so much. She makes us laugh all day long. She still has bright blue eyes, and her hair is still red. It isn't growing in too fast, but she is still as cute as ever!

As for the little Ev monster...

He is funnier than ever! He loves to dance to music and has Aaron and Me singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Jingle Bells and Head Shoulders Knees and Toes until we are blue in the face. He is really working on his vocabulary and surprises us here and there with a new word. He loves to play football and is showing signs of wanting to be a running back. He loves it when Aaron and I stand on different ends of the living room and let him run the ball back and forth. He still loves to be outside and has mastered going down the big slide this week...all it took was watching his friends do it and getting up the courage. I am proud of him.

Hopefully my next update will be soon!

2010!

2009 was great to my family! We welcomed little Avery bug and Evan has become a big boy instead of a big baby. I was going through all of my pictures that I have on my camera since the last time I blogged (too long I know!) and I have 209 pictures and/or videos. So hard to choose what to post. So, I have decided that I will post a good video of each one and vow to blog more often. :)

Here is a video of Avery yesterday. She is so close to crawling! I am convinced that at any minute she will pull herself up onto her knees and take off. She already moves so quickly that I can leave the room for a second and come back and have a hard time finding her. She chases Evan everywhere he goes and loves to play with his toys. He does a great job of not stepping on her all day long! Here is a video of her going down the hallway to get to Evan's Twighlight Turtle, his new favorite toy. She has started eating food and didn't even make a face when she had her first bite of peas! She loves to get and give kisses and gives the best hugs.

As for Evan...he is funnier than ever. Still very quirky, but really coming into his own. He is getting smarter everyday and still has more energy than any person I know. He is always coming up with new and exciting games to play like "hangers" where he takes hangers and throws them on my bed, climbs up on the bed and throws them down again. He loves to count everything and has mastered 1-3 and 7-10, but has a tough time in the middle. He has decided that he is now in love with Annie (who's name he says perfectly) from Little Einstein's instead of June, his first love. He goes back and forth...it is so cute! His favorite thing to do right now is to look at the stars from his Twighlight Turtle that he got for Christmas. We have a great time as a family everynight before bed playing in the stars. Here is a funny video of Evan getting into the pantry and doing what he loves to do...lining things up. I'm sure if he could stack these things he would. The red things are boxes of raisins that he took out of his treat box. Funny boy!

And, for the last video, I had to include this one because it is so typical of brother/sister relationships. Notice how Avery lifts the mat and knocks down his tower...

Santa Babies!

Wow! The holidays sure make everything crazy around here. After a few attempts we were finally able to see Santa! Aaron and I hadn't meant to be in the picture, but true to form, Evan refused to have his picture taken unless daddy was holding him...and even then he mostly wiggled. Poor kid! But, we were able to get this picture which for us is a good one. And, yes, I am wearing flip flops in December. :)

Today was a very fun day. We went to a Christmas party at NAS JAX to let the kids play in the "snow". Ok, it wasn't really snow as much as it was a patch of snowcone type ice on the ground, but everyone seemed to love it nonetheless. Well, Evan didn't love it so much, but he had a great time running around the marina and playing on the stairs. We were happy that all of our friends were there too! Here is a great picture my family that my friend Holly took:
As for the kids, Evan is getting smarter and smarter, which is a good thing and a bad thing. It is so fun to listen to him on the monitor after he goes to bed because he sings his ABC's and other songs. He loves Itsy Bitsy Spider, Wheels on the Bus, and Bones the best.
Little Avery is a firecracker for sure. She rolls everywhere she wants to go and is super fast. She still thinks her brother is the neatest thing ever and just wants to touch him. He isn't so happy about that, he is still a little creeped out by her. She is a snuggle bug who wants to be held, or played with every second. Definitely the opposite of Evan who was more of an independent soul. She is sitting up really well, but still needs Mom or Dad as a safety net when she forgets she is sitting.
I will post more soon!

Happy Birthday Mama!

Today is my Mama's birthday! She has always been an amazing mother, the strongest woman I have ever met in my life. She is also a wonderful Grandma and my only wish is that she lived right around the corner so my kids could get the opportunity to see her whenever they wanted. I am so thankful that she was able to visit twice this year. I'm also thankful that she has come to stay and help when both babies were born, I love every minute I get to spend with her.

I hope this year will be one filled with family, friends, and fun. I love you more than you will ever know and don't know what I would do if I couldn't talk to you everyday! Happy Birthday and we all love you!

Happy Birthday Brandi!

I would like to send a super happy birthday to my big sister Brandi! This is a picture of her ready to watch Evan be born. She was even brave enough to cut his cord! I wish we could have been together way more this year, and hope that 2010 brings us all together again! We all love and miss you very much!

Evan's Birthday Bash!

Wow! We have had so much going on lately it is hard to put it down into one blog, but I will try. :)

First of all we decided to take a trip to Disney World for Evan's birthday. And, while everyone thought we were crazy for taking a 2 year old and a 4 month old, it turned out great! Tiring, but great! Here is a synopsis:

Day 1-Hollywood Studios! This was our #1 destination for the trip since Evan loves all things Little Einsteins and I thought Playhouse Disney would be fun for him. It was worth every penny to see him get so excited to hear the music and see the characters. He even got excited for Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse, though he is still not a fan of Handy Manny. The show was 22 minutes long and he happily sat through the whole thing...twice! Even more exciting for him, was seeing the characters after the show. The lines were short so we didn't have much waiting, but that didn't stop Evan from trying to sneak over to them. I wish I had better pictures, but he was so excited in most of them he is just a big blur! Here is a funny video though.

After Playhouse Disney we took Evan to play at the Honey I Shrunk the Kids exhibit where we stayed until It closed. If it had stayed open, we would have been there all night. Evan loved playing on the slides, stairs and in the water features!

Once it was dark, we went to enjoy the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. It was so beautiful! I could have stayed there all night. They were serving hot chocolate (despite the fact that it was probably 70 degrees), gingerbread cookies and it even snowed! Evan was exhausted, but still was trying to catch the snowflakes! Poor little Avery bug just slept through the whole thing.

Day 2 started nice and early when we met with our friends at the Magic Kingdom. None of us slept very well, so we were expecting a short day with a lot of melt downs, but true to form, the kids came through for us and were WONDERFUL!!! Because there were few lines we were able to ride a bunch of rides. Evan, Daddy and Dan and Mollie rode the Teacups and the Carousel. Evan was so happy when he was walking holding Mollie's hand...I think he loves her. ;) Then all of us were able to ride Smallworld, Winnie the Pooh Adventure, Peter Pan and the Jungle Cruise. Unfortunately the Jungle Cruise was Evan's last leg because he fell right to sleep in Daddy's arms.

Surprisingly enough he didn't even wake when he was put in the stroller and there he slept for another hour until we decided to leave. After a rest period we decided to head to Epcot center and after a dinner time discussion and help from a song on the radio, "we have to get out of this place", we decided that the best thing for us would be to pack up our stuff and leave that night so all of us could get a really great nights rest. It was so worth it!!!

Evan's birthday was the next day, and needless to say, he was all partied out from Disney, so he was not the the best of moods. We gave him a "birthday cookie" instead of a cake since he doesn't eat cake...this video says it all...

As for Avery? She was traveling in style and enjoyed the ride. :)
